I'm Jonathan, and I've been providing individual therapy and other psychological services since 2009. I am oriented from a Gestalt perspective, which emphasizes your unique individual experience, attention to the present moment, and focuses on bringing holistic awareness to many aspects of your life. Oftentimes, this awareness will bring understanding, and understanding can enable you to make the changes you want.
We all adapt to challenges in creative ways, and these adaptations can make us less flexible, leading to difficulties in other areas. I also incorporate contemporary Reichian somatic treatment, which can build insight into the full range of our lived experience. I believe that therapy helps us expand our options, make connections, and enable us to lead more fulfilling and satisfying lives.
WHO DO I WORK WITH?
I work with adults 18 years and older in individual therapy. Many of my clients seek therapy due to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, recent and past traumatic experiences, difficulties adjusting to stressors, and challenging life transitions. I am LGBTQ+ affirming.
I have had the privilege of serving clients through various types of treatment to meet their specific needs. In 2010 I completed a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI, and gained experience providing group therapy. During my doctoral training from 2010 to 2015 at Pacific University in Hillsboro, OR, I provided individual and group therapy at several college and university counseling centers.
From 2015 to 2017 I provided individual and group therapy at the Early Assessment and Support Alliance (EASA) in Salem, OR. Between 2017 and 2023 I worked with Western Psychological & Counseling Services (now Lifestance Health) and continued to provide individual therapy. I regularly complete continuing education above and beyond state requirements, and am currently involved in training for Contemporary Reichian Somatic Treatment. My private practice opened in 2023.
